Ceramic braces
Ceramic braces are almost the same size and shape as traditional metal braces, except that they have tooth-colored or clear brackets.
Pros:
- Less noticeable than metal braces.
- Teeth move faster than clear aligners.
- Less harsh on the soft tissue.
Cons:
- More expensive than metal braces.
- Can stain if not maintained
Lingual Braces
A cosmetic alternative to traditional braces, as this type of braces, are bonded to the back surface of the teeth making them invisible when you smile or talk.
Pros:
- Invisible from outside.
Cons:
- Difficult to clean.
- More expensive.
- Not useful for severe cases.
Damon braces or self ligating braces
They are currently more popular because it provides gentle treatment to the soft tissue and requires fewer dental visits (once in 2 months). They produce faster results causing less friction, discomfort, and pressure on the teeth.
